Hu lu in Ji Jian Wu collection is slightly different from the common ones:
Waist: All Hu Lu has a waist, but here we have one with a not so tiny one.
Mouth: A protruding mouth that sucks in fortune around you.
Tummy: Hu Lu has a tummy that stores good fortune; a subtle belly button is added to emphasis the hollow stomach and little of the funs.

Hu Lu is a beloved auspicious symbol in Chinese culture first because of its pronunciation:

It is a vine which, grows many fruits and contains lots of seeds. Thus, it used to symbolize having many children, and the many generations to come. Also, Hu Lu can be made into utensils after it dries. In ancient China, Hu Lu is an excellent container to store pills. In Chinese culture, many immortals carry calabashes, such as the longevity star. Therefore, Chinese always related Hu Lu to longevity, healthy, and used as a decoration element in daily life.
