Cabe is an AI robot designed for users from age 6-12 to help them better manage their emotions when studying.
It uses emotion recognition technology to analyze the user’s emotions and act accordingly. Cabe can engage users with a variety of non-obstructive responses. It encourages children when they feel stressed while studying, improving their mood and productivity.

Existing Problem
The influence of emotion on learning includes five aspects: motivation, attention focus, cognitive capacity, memory extraction, concentration or transfer. Bad emotion often causes ineffective study experience. For instance, hard to focus or lack of motivation to do work. When the students are not learning effective and cause bad study results, it then alternatively affecting their emotions such as feeling depressed or angry.
Design Concept
To break the destructive cycle between emotion and study, what we can do is to adjust the emotion as numerous studies have shown that moderate positive emotions will enable individuals to achieve the best performance in the task. In addition, interactions from robots are feasible to improve people's emotions. As a result, we decide to design an AI robot that could help the user to manage learning emotions and improve learning efficiency.

Final Design
Cabe presents as a companion while user doing homework or reading. The build-in camera observing and analysis of user emotion, thus to react when necessary such as motivate or compliment user, to change user emotion from negative to positive or overexciting to moderate. The user reactions during the interaction allow Cabe to self-learning and improve its reaction to better help the users.
Cabe come with different design and colours of ears for users to customise their own study companion.
